WWW Wednesdays

WWW Wednesdays is a meme from Should Be Reading, where we answer three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you'll read next? If you want to participate, answer the three questions, then put your link on the Should Be Reading Blog in the comment section. Happy reading!

Arms Wide Open: A Midwife's Journey               The Priest's Graveyard               Miles to Go: The Second Journal of the Walk Series

What I am currently reading: Arms Wide Open by Patricia Harman - This is a book by a self-taught midwife in Minnesota and then West Virginia in the 1970's. It tells of how she and her friends lived off the land during Vietnam days and how, later, she and her husband, an OB-GYN, set up a women's health center to meet the needs of rural Appalachian women. While I am reading I can't help but think of my childbirthing days and how many times I "bucked the system" and delivered three out of five of my children at home.

What I recently finished reading: The Priest's Graveyard by Ted Dekker - A frightening story of a Bosnia-born priest who considers it his duty to rid the world of evil by personally killing the "monsters" he encounters. I was surprised at the lessons I learned from Dekker as I read. He preached a sermon to me through this book that I probably would not have grasped in this way anywhere else.

What I'll probably read next: Miles To Go by Richard Paul Evans - I read The Walk last week, so now I can read Miles To Go and find out what happens to Alan next. Good story!
